A Different New Toy

I thought we had found the perfect toy for my little guy, but I was way wrong. Batman destroyed that rope/ball contraption in less than a week. Completely destroyed. So it was back to the drawing board in the never-ending quest to find the perfect toy.

Alex and I found something different to try tonight. It's a rope, but it's a ball. A ball rope. I think it'll be harder for Batman to destroy, atleast I hope so.
After chewing on it for a couple minutes I noticed some blood on the ball rope. I'm hoping he just went a little too hard on it, seeing as he was super excited. I'll give it back after a while.
Here's some pictures of Batman enjoying his new toy. My camera is being retarded right now and won't focus right. I don't really know what to do about it.

Busy

I know I haven't posted in a little while, but life has been busy. I just started a new job, working M-F like a normal grown up. I'm hoping to get some new pictures posted this weekend of Batman. There's just a little too much going on right now to take care of it.

Another New Toy

Batman loves ropes. Loves them. Will chew on them for hours and hours. Unfortunately, he tears them up really quickly. When they get all stringy, he eats them and that makes him sick. Not fun. Really not fun.
He demolished his last rope this week, so Alex and I went on a mission to find a durable rope, one that wouldn't need replacing after a couple weeks. The super durable ropes are too big for Batman, so those are out.
At Target we found this rope/ball mixture. The weaving on the ropes looked really durable, and the threads were thicker, which would make it harder for Batman to eat. We thought we had struck gold.
Until day two, when Batman had already eaten off one rope and started shredding it. This was the most non-durable toy we have found! So disappointing, and so not cheap. (Thanks Alex!)

Here's Batman enjoying his toy on the first night. He's shaking his head, which is why it looks weird and blurry. He loves it, but I think it's going to need replaced very soon.

This weekend

With two graduations and a graduation party this weekend, I didn't get to spend much time with Batman. On Friday he spent most of the day home alone. On Saturday he spent the afternoon/evening at my parents' house playing with his brothers. On Sunday though, we had a wonderful lazy day together. Lots and lots of time spent laying on the couch. And then sitting on the couch. And then laying down again.
Great Sunday.
Great weekend.

Awkward Family Pet Photos

I might be obsessed with my dog, but at least I didn't bake him a birthday cake.

Ok, I totally would have if I knew a puppy-friendly recipe. Honestly, I don't understand how this photo ended up on Awkward Family Pet Photos. I don't think it's awkward, I think it's adorable.
Floyd is a very cute puppy.

Too cute

I love puppy clothes, but some of them are just too cheesy for Batman. He's a hip dog, and I think he deserves some hip clothes.
This is perfect. If someone would like to buy it for us, that would be great.
There's a ton of wonderful Batman-friendly garments on this site.

Busy week/weekend.

I have had a very busy week/weekend. With me running between two jobs, school and several job interviews, poor Batman has been spending too much time in his kennel. This weekend we spent some extra time out together. On Sunday we went to Mom and Dad's for Mother's Day. Oh how Batman loves hanging out with his brothers! They played outside for hours. I love sitting by the window and watching Batman run around with the big dogs. He can hold his own and he has so much fun.
When it was time to give Batman a bath and go home, things got a little crazy. Mom and Dad have three dogs, all of which are bigger than Batman, two of which are like quadruple his size. The two big dogs do pretty good with letting Batman come inside without trying to push in themselves. The new puppy doesn't.
So I opened the back door to let Batman inside and Loki ran inside too. While trying to get Loki back outside, both Louis and Deuce ran inside. Luckily, Dad closed off the living room doors before the dogs could tear through the whole house. They were running circle around Mom and Dad's living room, and the two big dogs are far too big for me to catch. Dad was wonderful and managed to wrangle their dogs outside.

This is us sharing a sweet moment at a stop light on the way to Mom and Dad's.

Batman's New Trick

Batman has figured out a new trick. Anytime someone is sitting on the couch and they get up, Batman immediately takes their seat. Always. He can be happily napping on the end of the couch and I'll get up to grab something to drink. When I come back he's laying in my spot, looking up at me like, "What? I've been here the whole time."
This is especially funny when Alex and I are both on the couch. Batman has this weird thing anyway where he has to be laying on one of us. Or both of us. Whichever he can manage. He contorts his little puppy body in the weirdest ways. Then one of us will get up, come back and Batman has gotten up and moved to our spot.
Maybe he's just keeping it warm until we come back.

Tired

I was exhausted when I got home from work last night, so after devouring some dinner I went to bed. I had taken Batman out when I got home, so I didn't bother taking him out the hour later when we went to bed.
Batman woke me up at 3 to go outside. But he didn't want to just go outside, he wanted to sniff everything. Like, stand in one spot and smell the ground for 30 seconds before I made him move, then stop and smell another part of the ground. So annoying.
After 10 minutes he finally did his business and we could go back inside. Unfortunately, I was awake too long and had too much on my mind to get back to sleep. It was a very long night.
So when I went to get up at 9 Batman was all ready to play, and all I wanted to do was bury under the covers.

It shouldn't be this hard...

It is very difficult to get a good picture of me and Batman. Whether it's because my little man won't look at the camera, or my camera wants to go all blurry or I look dumb, getting a good picture takes forever. Here's some shots from my mini photo shoot last night with Batman. Some of them are pretty good... some of them aren't. I didn't bother putting up the 6 or 7 blurry ones.

This one is probably the best of the night, although Batman looks a little scared.

This one's alright, except for the weird fake smile I have going on.

I think this one is cute. There was a great one right after this of him kissing me, but it was all blurry.

Batman can only look me in the eyes for a second before he goes in for the kiss.

I can't believe I cut Batman out of this shot! Although it's a little blurry, it would have been so cute!

Slacker

I have been a picture-taking slacker recently. I don't have anything from this weekend to post of Batman, so something old will have to do.
This is a photo I took of Batman the afternoon I picked him up, when Rebecca and I were driving him home. Check out those amazingly large ears! His head grew into them eventually.

You can tell why it was love at first sight.
