Lazy

Batman has been pretty lazy recently. He does a whole lot of cuddling up with me on the couch and sleeping. And I love it! I snapped this picture yesterday when he was curled up with me and a blanket. He had to squish his little baby head between my leg and the couch to see me, but that's how he laid for a long time. Such a sweetie.

(This image is pretty poor quality because I took it with my cell phone. Didn't want to ruin the moment by getting up to get my camera.)

Back home with my Baby

I was away from my love for eight whole days, and then yesterday I got to take him back home. What a wonderful morning! The people at the vet's office were sad to see Batman go, and kept telling me how much they love him. (Of course they do- he's the perfect puppy!) They took him out of the back room to give him to me, and at first he didn't see me. They set him down and I called for him. His face went from terrified to excited. He ran and jumped on me, and I couldn't have been happier. All week I had been thinking about this moment, and worrying that he would be mad at me for leaving him. But my Batman was just as happy to see me as I was to see him.
For the first time ever he jumped into the car himself, without me having to chase after him. He ran from the car to our apartment, so eager to get home. And of course, as soon as he was in the front door he ran and found his kong. So predictable. I love that little guy.

Sad

Today is a sad day. Tomorrow my family leaves for New York, so I have to drop Batman off at the vet this afternoon to be boarded. I won't be able to pick him up until next Thursday! That's 8 whole days without my Batman! I'm having a little bit of trouble dealing with this thought. Although I am immensely excited about our trip to NY, I am sad about leaving my baby behind. I hope he's not too mad at me when I pick him up next week.

Batman's Busy Weekend

Batman and I had a busy weekend. We spent Friday night and Saturday afternoon at my parents' house. Batman always seems to enjoy car rides, but on Saturday Alex came with us and Batman was freaked out about having to sit on his lap during the ride. He acted like a scaredy-cat, making Alex think he doesn't like the car. (Not true.)
Batman was excited to see the family this weekend. He has a special place in his heart for my dad, who was just as excited to see him. Dad spent some time teaching Batman how to lay down, and Batman did a pretty good job. I brought Batman's kong with us, hoping he would be content to sit in the living room and chew on it like he does at our apartment. Not the case. If he wasn't sitting on my lap on the couch, he was running around crazy either chasing the cats or teasing the other dogs outside.
Here's a picture of Batman in the car on the way to Mom and Dad's, and then chasing after his kong.

Batman Shirt!

I ordered this wonderful shirt from www.all-mighty.net. I feel like it was made just for me!

(Please ignore how ridiculous I look. Bad hair and weird face, not my best shot.)

Cute harness

Batman is finally big enough for the harness I bought him a couple months ago. Alex thinks it makes him look like a retard. I think it's adorable. (Boston's can develop bad breathing issues, do a regular collar isn't good for them.)

Thank goodness for my cuddle buddy.

On days like today, I'm thankful for my Batman. It's been a bad day, with lots of bitchy people. It's nice to be able to come home and snuggle with Batman on the couch and watch TV together.

You can't see me.

When I'm not at home, I keep Batman in his kennel. Although I love him to death, I don't trust him to be alone and out in the apartment. When I take a shower I let him stay out, and most days, if I don't put the trash can on the table, I get out and there's eaten trash all over the place. If he can make a mess like that in 10 minutes, I'm scared to know what he would do with a couple hours.
Usually, Batman seems to love his kennel. I keep a bed in there (which he has pretty much devoured), and there's always a toy or two for him to play with. I can just tap on the top of the kennel, and Batman goes right in. At least until recently that' s how it's been. For some reason, when Alex is over, Batman tries to hide when I tell him to go in his kennel. Unfortunately for him, he always hides in the same spot, and he's not really hidden- he's laying under the coffee table.

Silly puppy.

Batman in the mornings...

During the week, Batman is just as lazy as I am in the mornings. He doesn't want to get up, and once I take him outside he cuddles back up in bed until I have to leave. On the weekends though, that's another story.

On the rare occasion, like this morning, that I have the opportunity to sleep in, Batman likes to ruin it. He decides he wants to get up early, and keeps licking my face and whining until I take him out. Then he's ready to run and play. What happened to the lazy puppy I snuggle with during the week?

Baby Batman

Here's some more photos of baby Batman right after I got him.

I love, love, LOVE this picture!

He looks so little in this picture!

Once a chin kisser...

...always a chin kisser. From the very beginning.

The day I got my baby.

When I look at Batman I have a hard time remembering how small he used to be. (He's still pretty small.) Then I look at pictures and realize how much of a baby he used to be. Here's some pics of the day I got him home.

Batman on Halloween

I was going through my memory card at work, and I found these photos of Batman from Halloween. I was going to dress as Dorothy and he was going to be a flying monkey from "The Wizard of Oz," but it was far too cold that night for a dress. So Batman was a bat for Halloween. The cutest bat anyone ever did see.

Again with the kisses. He's just so sweet.

I think he looks a little intimidating in this picture, which is hilarious because he's such a scaredy-cat.

The most adorable puppy around

Batman is always doing adorable things, and looking at me with his ridiculously cute big eyes. Yesterday I was able to catch a seriously sweet moment on camera.

Check out his little tongue right before he goes in for the chin-kiss.

Oh how alike we are...

I've come to notice how alike Batman and I are. We both love to snooze through our alarm 5 and 6 times in the morning. We both sleep best when snuggled under the covers. And I've noticed we make some of the same expressions, too. Example:

This is our head-turned, inquisitive expression.

And this is our happy, face-to-the-sky expression.
And then my favorite:

Our kissy faces. All I have to do is make this face at him and he comes up for a kiss on my chin. Oh, puppy love.

Welcome to our life

I'm Jillian, and this is my dog Batman.

He's the love of my life. We spend most of our free time cuddled up on the couch together.

This blog is to show our friends and family the life we have together.
