Bad Weekend
Oh man, bad weekend.
I took Dexter over to Mom and Dad's with me on Saturday. Dex hadn't been outside with their dogs yet, and I wanted to give it a shot. I took Dexter and Batman outside, and stayed out there for 30 minutes while the dogs got used to Dexter. They got along great! Dex wasn't mean like he normally is. He was being submissive and kind of scared. (Pretty crazy.) After I watched to make sure they were all getting along well, I walked the fence to make sure Dex couldn't get out, and then went inside. I checked on him every hour, and he was having a good time.
Around 9:30 I ran the bath water for the boys. Dad went out to get Dexter and couldn't find him. He was hiding in the dog house, and when dad got him out we could see how bad his snout looked!
There was a huge bump on the top of his nose right between his eyes! He was whining and crying, and freaked out it you tried to touch it. I took him to the emergency vet- he has a ruptured sinus cavity!
We think the boys were just playing and it got a little too rough, and someone bit Dex. The vet didn't know what it was right away, and I ended up having to leave Dex there for a few hours. We got the call around 3:45 that they had taken care of him and we could pick him up.
Now his nose is super swollen across his whole snout, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him now. (The double doses of pain meds helps that.) He's been sleeping most of the day, but that's good. He's not supposed to be too active for the next 2 weeks. Hopefully his crazy swelling will go down soon- I think he looks like a dinosaur.
Here's a picture from last night at the vet, and then this morning when we got up.

Best Friends Yet so Different
My boys are so funny. Batman LOVES to be under a blanket. If he won't come sit on my lap, I can just grab a blanket and cover up and he'll run right over. Dexter is the opposite. He hates blankets. He gets caught under them and can't get himself out. He's fallen off the couch a couple times while being tangled in a blanket.
Check out these adorable photos of the puppies and their napping habits. In the one with Dexter, Batman is under the blanket, but they're still cuddling. Too cute!

I'm terrible and I know it...
I know, I'm horrible at blogging! I got this new, great computer, and had all these plans to constantly update my blog. And then I didn't. I'm sorry. I've been a little preoccupied with things lately. Things being: trips out of town, painting my house (!), watching basketball, covering events for work and just wanting to spend my down time on the couch with my puppy. I'm hoping to get better though.
Something awesome and crazy happened recently- I found someone else who has a Boston Terrier named Batman! I was on Pinterest, looking at pictures of dogs, and there was one of a Boston with the caption, "My Batman." I got so excited! I commented on her photo and told her I have a Batman Boston as well, and now we follow each other on Pinterest. (I love other Boston lovers!)
I'll leave you today with a cute Batman hug picture. He decided to be super sweet the other day and cuddle extra close with me on the couch.

Missing my little man...
I am in Dodge City right now for work. I left yesterday late morning, and I'll be home tonight. I miss my Batman so much!! Last night in the hotel I was watching TV and a Boston was in a commercial- it made me so sad!! I can't wait to get back to my favorite boys! (Boys being Batman, Dexter and Alex.)
